Formulation

Each 100 g contain: Sulfadiazine (as sodium) 42, Trimethoprim 8 g, excipients q.s. ad 100 g.

Indications

Treatment and prevention of infections caused by sensitive germs to sulfadiazine and/or trimetoprim. Infections of the digestive, respiratory and urogenital system, skin and soft tissues infections, prevention of secondary bacterial infections. Chicken, roosters and turkeys: respiratory infections, salmonellosis, colibacillosis, cholera, coryza, staphylo and streptococcosis, omphalitis and yolk sac infections, sacculitis, sinusitis, synovitis, gangrenous dermatitis. Pigs: nonspecific respiratory infections, atrophic rhinitis, enterotoxemia by E. coli (edema disease), enteric colibacillosis, salmonellosis, neonatal diarrhea, piglets diarrhea, post-weaning diarrhea, bacterial diarrheas, corynebacteriosis, erysipellosis, dermatitis, metritis-mastitis-agalactia (MMA) of bacterial origin. Pre-ruminants: respiratory and enteric infections, diarrhea caused by Salmonella spp. and E. coli, enterotoxemia. Horses: respiratory and urogenital infections, wounds and mumps. Guinea pigs and rabbits: respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, among others.

Dosage and Administration

By oral route mixed in drinking water or with feed. Poultry: 150 - 300 g/1000 liters of water or 500 kg of feed, every 24 hours during 5 days. Pigs: 350 - 700 g of powder/1000 L of water or 400 kg of feed, every 24 hours during 7 days. Pre-ruminants: 25 mg of the product/kg of body weight, twice a day (0.5 g/10 kg of b.w. daily) during 7 days (in water, milk of feed). Horses: 2.5 - 5 g/100 kg of b.w. or 50 - 100 g/100 L of water every 12 - 24 hours during 4 - 7 days. Guinea pigs and rabbits: 1 g per 10 - 15 kg of body weight every 12 - 24 hours during 3 - 5 days.
